Millimeter wave ranging system has the advantages of high spatial resolution and good real-time performance,which is widely used in the military field,especially in the terminal guidance proximity fuze.This ranging method effectively improves the Precision Strike ability of weapon system.With the development of millimeter wave technology and integrated circuit,it is very important to study the signal processing technology of millimeter wave proximity fuze.The MMW fuze ranging system focuses on the research of MMW ranging technology.By analyzing the traditional difference frequency signal processing method,an improved algorithm based on FFT is proposed.The algorithm can improve the total amount of processing information in unit time of the processor,and the algorithm is simulated and verified by using MATLAB.The design and implementation of MMW proximity fuze is completed with FPGA,and the test results of the system are analyzed.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1)This paper introduces the structure of the ranging system of MMW proximity fuze,analyzes the ranging theory of triangle wave modulation signal in detail and demonstrates it,including the time-domain analysis and frequency-domain analysis of difference frequency signal.(2)This paper analyzes the factors that affect the ranging accuracy of millimeter wave fuze.By analyzing two spectrum thinning algorithms,ZOOM-FFT and Chirp-Z transform(CZT),an algorithm which can effectively improve the spectrum resolution and system efficiency is proposed,and it is verified by simulation with MATLAB.(3)In this paper,the signal processing system of MMW proximity fuze is designed,which adopts the full digital signal processing scheme and uses the logic function module provided by FPGA to complete the signal preprocessing.Finally,the echo signal is simulated by MATLAB,and the simulation results are in line with the expectation.(4)At last,the hardware implementation of MMW fuze ranging system is completed,including the logic design of each module,chip selection and implementation,as well as the realization of LFM signal generation,digital down conversion and FFT processing in FPGA.In addition,the implementation of EMIF interface used in the system is also described.Finally,the verification test and result analysis of the system are carried out.The test results meet the expected requirements,which proves that the millimeter wave proximity fuze scheme designed in this paper has engineering feasibility.
