In the future wars,complex battlefield environments require very good target detection,antijamming and real-time processing performance,all of which require strong data processing capabilities.Thanks to powerful computing performance and mature development ecosystem,multi-core DSP has been widely used in various missile-borne radar systems.Pulse Doppler radar(PD RADAR)has good speed detection capability and excellent resistance to the ground/sea clutter with a full-coherence system.This paper mainly studies the parallel signal processing and real-time processing performance optimization of missileborne PD radar based on multi-core DSP TMS320C6678.This paper first analyzes the characteristics of missile-borne platform,then introduces the working principle of PD radar and analyzes the radar signal processing flow in detail,and expounds the steps of PD radar signal processing.Secondly,according to the designed missile-borne radar signal processing prototype,combined with the hardware and software resources of multi-core DSP,including on-chip interconnect structure,memory architecture,multi-core synchronization method and kernel operating system,and according to the task characteristics of different algorithm steps,this paper determines the model of parallel tasks,completes the software mapping of the algorithm in multi-core DSP,and determines the complete multi-core DSP-based PD radar signal processing engineering development program.Then,using the performance exploration tool--“profile” to deeply investigate the real-time performance of the existing signal processing program,this paper confirms the performance bottleneck of the program,and optimizes and improves it from three aspects: algorithm flow,code implementation,compiler and memory structure.Based on the transfer characteristic of EDMA,the matrix transpose operation has been specifically optimized.And some functions are modified by means of hybrid programming.The real-time performance of the signal processing program is improved ultimately.Then,for the problem of unstable operation of multi-core synchronous mode based on the hardware semaphore,a stable multi-core synchronization framework is constructed based on Message Q,and the PD radar signal processing program is reconstructed.Finally,the simulated radar echo scene is designed.The single-machine functional simulation test and the radar semi-physical simulation system experiment are carried out on the missile-borne PD radar signal processor.The correctness and real-time performance of the PD radar multi-core DSP parallel processing program is verified.
