In recent years,automobile manufacturers advocate the universality of parts,that is,according to certain standards,the types or specifications of auto parts are simplified and unified,so that they are interchangeable in the same kind of products.It can reduce the cost of manufacturing and improve the market competitiveness of the whole vehicle.Automobile water pump is a special application mode of centrifugal pump,and it is the power source of automobile engine water cooling system,which is of great significance to automobile cooling system.However,the working environment of automobile water pump is complex,and the working temperature and pressure are relatively large.How to produce the pump with high generality and safety and reliability is a problem to be solved in engineering practice.According to the traditional design method,the automobile cooling water pump is designed separately for different engine parameters and working conditions,and the general degree of generalization is very low.For the cooling system,the requirements of different automobile engines to the cooling system are different,but the installed environment is similar,with the general design conditions,therefore,the general design of the water pump components can be adopted,The impeller and the volute part of the core hydraulic part are designed with differential design to meet the hydraulic performance.The main research work of this thesis is as follows:(1)the working principle of automobile cooling water pump,the structure of main components and their functions are analyzed;(2)under the condition of general design,a series of commercial vehicles have limited the diameter of inlet and outlet pipes of A and B engine cooling water pumps,the impeller of cooling water pump and the volute parts are hydraulically designed,and according to the demand,the different design is made to meet the cooling demand of different engines,and the other parts of two pumps are designed for general design;(3)the engine cooling water pump of two kinds of general design is modeled,and the characteristics of the water pump under different rotating speed are simulated and verified by the fluid mechanics analysis software;(4)two kinds of engine cooling water pumps were tested on the vehicle water pump comprehensive performance test-bed.Determine the corresponding relationship between the head,shaft power,efficiency and flow of the two pumps under certain water temperature and speed conditionsIn this paper,through the hydraulic design of the impeller and volute components of the pump,the fluid mechanics simulation and analysis,as well as the design optimization,the same series of A,B engine cooling pumps are obtained and verified by experiments.The verification results show that the two pumps meet the requirements of the guarantee point(design working point),and the comprehensive performance of the pump meets the design requirements.The pump parts are all general except impeller and volute,and the generalization coefficient has been greatly improved.Thus,the management is simplified in practical production,the design time of pump is shortened,the workload of tooling and manufacture is saved,and the time from design to trial production of universal chemical pump products is reduced,so the cost of serialized cooling pump products is reduced to a maximum extent,which has high social and practical value.
