The seismic isolation technology has achieved great success with research and application in recent years,and thousands of seismic isolation buildings have been built at home and abroad.The isolation layer should has small horizontal stiffness,sufficient restoring force and certain damping.Both linear natural rubber bearing(LNR)and lead rubber bearing(LRB)are the most widely used isolation device.LNR has low damping and poor energy dissipation capability.For LRB,the lead-core of it provides damping for the seismic isolation layer.However,the lead has the pollution in production and use.So it is necessary to find other energy-consuming device in parallel with the LNR.As a superplastic alloy,Zn-22%Al has strong capacity of deformability and energy dissipation,and it is suitable for being used as a damper.It can be used in parallel with LNR,which can't only play the role of seismic isolation but also energy consumption.In this paper,the ABAQUS and SAP2000 software were used to determine the key parameters of the Zn-22%Al alloy by fitting with the known test data,and the mechanical properties of the Zn-22% Al alloy damper were investigated.The main research results were as follows:1.Relationship between the allowable displacement of the bar-shaped Zn-22%Al alloy damper and the design displacement of the LNRs were analyzed to determine the possibility of their combination.2.The mechanical properties such as equivalent stiffness,effective damping ratio and the allowable displacement of U-shaped Zn-22%Al alloy damper were researched.3.the mechanical properties and isolation effect of the isolation device,which was combined in parallel by the U-shaped Zn-22%Al alloy damper with LNR.The results showed that the isolation layer which composed of U-shaped Zn-22%Al alloy damper and LNR could reduce the seismic response of the structure,and had obvious isolation effect and energy dissipation capacity.
