In recent years,due to the popularity of high-speed railway,planes and private cars,the market share of buses is becoming smaller and smaller.At the same time,the rapid development of new energy technologies,such as pure battery and fuel cell power system,has given birth to some of new bus companies that lead to the intense competition in the bus market.In addition,with the raise of the middle class and the upgrade of consumption demand,the passengers put forward higher requirements for the comfort and safety of the journey.With the disappearance of China’s demographic dividend,the level of labor cost will be higher and higher,the bus industries will face severe tests and challenges in the future.As a result,the development and application of new technology,new structure,new materials and new equipment need to be accelerated in order to support the synchronous improvement of product quality,product performance,and manufacturing efficiency and cost.W company is a leading enterprise in the domestic bus industry.Its product life cycle is short,the product types are many,the product structure changes quickly and the production volume is small,which has a great impact on the progress and effect of process development.Through the investigation of the current process development,there are two major problems: firstly,the process engineering development is delayed,or even failed,which has a great impact on the product development progress,production efficiency and quality improvement;secondly,after the process development project is finished,there are many abnormal problems,and it can not run stably,affecting the satisfaction of the customers.Through a systematic analysis of the process development problems of W company,the core reason is that the current business model of process development is unreasonable.The process lacks communication and coordination,and the participation of relevant parties of the project is insufficient,so the synchronous development cannot be achieved.Based on the research the best enterprise experience and theoretical analysis,we have proposed the corresponding countermeasures from the idea and concept of IPDis applied to the process development business of W company to construct the process development mode based on IPD.Finally,resolve its process development process delays and abnormal problems after the process development project is finished.In this paper,comparative analysis,field research,expert interviews and other methods are used to investigate the current situation of W bus company’s process development.At the same time,the idea and the method of IPD(Integrated Product Development)are applied to process development of W bus company,which helps to solve its problem of lack of communication and coordination.The optimized process development mode,organization division of labor,and structured process can effectively support the project manager’s work,greatly shorten the process development cycle,improve the quality of process development,and improve the success rate of process development,and then the company’s strategic realization is supported.As the leader of domestic bus industry,W company is absolutely ahead in business scale and complexity.Its analysis and improvement will provide excellent experience for other domestic bus enterprises or similar industries.
