A Study On The Exhibition Of The Pre-Qin City Wall Sites In Zhengzhou Area

The city wall is the most common and important defensive facility in the city.Since the beginning of the Neolithic period,ancient Chinese ancestors have built a large number of various city walls with various shapes.The unique defense function,architectural form and style characteristics of the city wall make it different from other historical heritages.As a representative image of ancient cities and a heavy historical carrier,the city wall has rich local characteristics and is an important medium for displaying the city’s historical style.However,The pre-Qin city wall has become a unique type of city wall with its tall and continuous city wall shape,unique rammed earth materials and the thick atmosphere of the simple vicissitudes,which has very important display value.Zhengzhou is an area where the pre-Qin city sites are concentrated,and more than 30 pre-Qin city sites have been excavated by archaeology.Since the invention of fortification technology in the middle and late Neolithic era,the city wall has become the most representative product of pre-Qin cities in Zhengzhou.From the perspective of construction time and development process,the pre-Qin city wall in Zhengzhou has unparalleled root,continuity,and completeness.As a concentrated area of the pre-Qin City Wall sites,the contradiction between the rapid development of the city and the protection and utilization of the city walls is also very prominent in Zhengzhou.How to coordinate the relationship between the city wall and the city,so that the city wall can not only show its precious historical value,but also live in harmony with modern life,has become a subject worthy of in-depth study in the display of the pre-Qin city wall.This paper takes the pre-Qin city wall in Zhengzhou area as the research object,focusing on how to display the pre-Qin city wall according to its characteristics and display conditions.First of all,the basic information and related research results of the pre-Qin city wall are combed to understand the construction process,defense characteristics and type characteristics of the pre-Qin city wall,and the characteristics of the pre-Qin city wall are summarized.Then through literature collection,field research and other methods to sort out the relevant theoretical research at home and abroad,comparative analysis of excellent cases at home and abroad,summed up the relevant display methods at home and abroad,to provide guidance for the display of the pre-Qin city wall in Zhengzhou area.Secondly,through field investigation,the preservation status of some pre-Qin city wall ruins in Zhengzhou area and the cases where protection and display measures have been taken were investigated,and combs the existing display methods,analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of these display methods,and also interprets the difficulties faced by the current display work of pre-Qin City wall.Then,according to the previous research results,it proposes a way to display the city wall ontology from two aspects of showing the city wall’s overall appearance and local details.For the display of the surrounding environment of the site,it can be carried out by creating two levels: the display space level that highlights the body of the wall site and the display atmosphere that sets off the preciousness of the site.It summarizes the standards for the division of the space level of different types of wall sites,and lists the design methods of the elements that can be used to set off the display atmosphere,such as plants,marking systems,paving materials,landscape sketches and lighting systems.Finally,taking the Bai zhai commercial city wall site in the suburb of Zhengzhou as the practice object,by analyzing the characteristics of the site and the current situation of the surrounding environment,and adopting the appropriate method of displaying the site itself and the surrounding environment,we can provide more practical reference basis for the display of the pre-Qin rammed earth city wall sites in China.
