With the continuous upgrading of engine emission requirements,the performance of the intake system must overcome the enormous challenges brought by the working conditions with high altitude and high concentration of dust.Nowadays the commercial vehicles of the main sales are striving to optimize the design and improve the performance,but it is difficult to balance the intake resistance and the filtration efficiency for a long time in the optimal efficiency stage.The user prompt based on single numerical alarm mechanism also causes negative user experience.In view of the above factors,this paper designs an air intake system with high flow rate,low resistance and high filtration efficiency throughout the life cycle.Meanwhile truck drivers are supposed to be reminded in time by its intelligent equipment.The main content has the following aspects:(1)A new type of air filter with dual elements arranged in parallel is designed,which can greatly reduce the intake resistance of the whole intake system by increasing the passing area of the engine intake system in the filtering stage.Build three-dimensional model and simplification of the dual element air filter by CAD method.Design the mechanical structure of air cleaner assembly and parts by using parametric design method.Design the shape index and function parameters of element.Expound the basic principle of computational fluid dynamics,simulate and calculate the flow field of the intake system,visually analyze the internal flow field of the air filter by CFD technology,and predict the performance index of the air filter.(2)The intellectualization of air filter intake system is explored and studied.Combining with automobile electronic control technology,sensor arrangement and data transmission settings are made for the intake system,and each sensor of the intake system is networked by using CAN bus technology.Logical relationship is created for different sensor data through data frame definition and CAN bus message format,so that the whole electronic system constitutes an organic communication network.for drivers,passengers and technicians.It provides the working indicators of the intake system to drivers,passengers and technicians.Combined with in-depth learning technology,design and train calculation models which could accurately predict the service life of air filters by using Python language.Based on modular programming technology of Internet data sharing,an intelligent air intake system maintenance indication system is designed,which estimates service life to users.Establishment of service life calculation model of air filter fills in the blank of service life prediction in heavy automobile filter industry,and has certain advanced nature.(3)Combining with ISO5011 standard,the bench test of dual element air filter is organized.The experimental results show that the initial intake resistance of dual element air filter is 1.2 kPa at 1600 m3/h,which is 41%lower than that of single element air filter at the same flow rate,which confirms the correctness of CFD simulation analysis.Through the air filter bench test,the negative pressure rise curve data under different environmental parameters were accumulated.(4)Different air filters are mounted on the engine bench to test the influence of intake performance on engine performance.Because the dual elements air filter has lower intake resistance,the intake pressure drop is closer to the ideal condition of the exhaust turbocharger calibration,which makes the turbocharger have more ideal turbocharger ratio,improves the engine's inflation efficiency,increases the air-fuel ratio in the cylinder,makes the fuel more fully burned,increases the cam output torque,and increases the exhaust volume,which is helpful to turbocharger to keep high supercharging performance.The test results show that the dual element air filter can improve the fuel economy of the engine,lower average fuel consumption by 2.4g/(kW·h)under the external characteristic condition,1.6g/(kW·h)under ETC condition and 1.9g/(kW·h)under ESC condition.The results show that the response time of the supercharger can be reduced by an average of 0.4s by using the dual element air filter compared with the single filter element air filter,which means that using the dual element air filter can improve the power performance of the engine.(5)The newly designed air intake system is mounted on a heavy tractor for road test to verify the practicability and advancement of the design results in this paper.The new product is installed on the test vehicle in Xinjiang,and the road test verifies the improvement of vehicle quality by the intelligent dual element air filter intake system.The road test results show that the service life of the double filter element air filter can basically reach four times of that of the single element air filter,and the average fuel consumption of the test vehicle can be reduced by nearly 1%.
