Since the advent of the internal combustion engine,it has always been the focus of designers.With the improvement of its technical level,people pay more attention to the safety,reliability and comfort of internal combustion engines while paying attention to power,economy and operability.As an important part of the diesel engine,the camshaft box has an important influence on stability and reliability of the overall operation of the diesel engine.Therefore,its design and development is particularly important.The project uses finite element analysis for camshaft box considering the effects of temperature to get its displacement and stress distribution patterns and vibration characteristics.First,establish the geometric model of the camshaft box.In order to ensure the accuracy of calculation,it is assembled with the engine block according to the actual situation,then do some adjustment.Import it into the ANSYS Workbench and generate a finite element model through adding materials,setting contacts,meshing and so on.Then,according to the thermal boundary conditions given by the factory,considering the influence of the engine block,the exhaust manifold and the environment temperature,do the steady-state thermal analysis to obtain the temperature field of the camshaft box in high and low temperature environment.Secondly,the temperature field is applied as a load to the camshaft box.Then apply other load and constraints and do the thermal stress analysis to get its displacement in vertical direction to determine constraint of the cylinder head to the camshaft box.Do the thermo-mechanical coupling analysis to get the location of maximum of deformation and stress,considering cylinder head constraint,bolts preload and heat load.It is found that the camshaft box has the expansion deformation at high temperature and shrinks at low temperature,and the maximum deformation occurs at the top left of it,the maximum stress occur at the angle between the curved plate and the side plate on the right side.It meets the requirement after strength check,then put forward the improvement.Finally,do modal analysis of camshaft box.Know about its dynamic characteristics through the natural frequency.It is found the stiffness at its side is insufficient by observing basic vibration mode.Then study the influence of engine excitation and put forward improvement to improve the overall rigidity of the camshaft box. |
