Research On Modern Monastery Landscape Design

With the spread of Buddhist culture and the development of religious tourism,multi-functional monasteries,have attracted more and more attention from people,and the construction of temples has been set off all over the country.However,under the impact of the construction upsurge,single form of the monastery landscape expressions,the shortage function space,the atmosphere mood missing and many other problems are exposed.The traditional monastery landscape can no longer meet the basic needs and aesthetic interests of the modern users.The monastery landscape has to be innovated.The landscape design of modern temples is conducive to balancing the religious spirit and the needs of the times.It is also helpful to establish a good balance between the needs of public society and religious uniqueness.Optimizing and improving the temple environment is helpful to build a religious,contemporary,well-landscaped and ecological monastery landscape.This paper puts forward the research on the landscape design of modern temples in accorda nce with the needs of the times.Starting from the essence of the temple and the requiremen ts of the times,establishing the relationship between Landscape characteristics and Landsc ape Design of Modern Monasteries to meet people's needs for modern monasteries.This paper,which is based on the research of the background,type and attribute of modern monastery landscape construction,summarizes the landscape characteristics of modern monasteries from sequence,space and artistic conception the three angles of landscape.Based on the summary of five successful cases of modern temples at home and abroad,such as Baoji Famen Temple,Suzhou Chongyuan Temple,East Garden of Yangzhou Daming Temple,Taipei Nongchen Temple and Shuiyue Tang of Benfu Temple in Japan,this paper analyzes its excellent landscape performance methods,and accumulates rich experience for the present modern monastery landscape design methods and examples.Based on the preliminary basic research and case accumulation,this paper summarizes the four principles of modern monastery landscape integrity,functionality,times and ecology,and puts forward the design method of modern monastery from three aspects: landscape sequence,landscape space and artistic conception construction.Then puts forward the design methods of three landscape sequences: guidance and suggestion,repetition and reproduction,gradual change and progressive progress according to the summary of the function and the type of the spatial level in the landscape sequence of the modern monastery.This paper analyzes and discusses the basic contents and design methods of modern temple space landscape from three aspects: optimizing spatial form,perfecting spatial function and spatial natural transition.Finally,it summarizes and abstracts the elements of Buddhist culture,and relies on the landscape elements to organize and design them materially,so as to enhance the artistic conception of temples.Analyzed and summarized the present situation of the base and the surrounding environment through visit to the scene of Zhaoti Temple in Fuping,then carried out the landscape design of Zhaoti Temple.With the theme of Function,Ecology and Times,the Zhaoti temple in Fuping County has designed the landscape layout of " two districts,two axes,and multiple nodes" based on the the basic needs of space,Combined with planting design,water features design,pavement design and facility design,zhaoti temple is built as a collection of pilgrimage to Zen,tour,leisure and recuperation.The correctness and practicability of the design method are verified by the final practice.Hoping that the study can provide useful reference for the landscape design of new monasteries in the future.
