Due to the rapid development of the city and the growing population, urban environmental problems have become increasingly prominent.Human activities have changed the inherent structure and state of the natural environment. The internal connections between the various elements in the ecosystem have been disrupted.Urban biodiversity has begun to be degraded and lost, which has also led to urban environmental problems and human health problems, threatening the urban ecosystem.Under the background of extensive research on urban ecological environment and biodiversity conservation, coarse woody debris has become a hot issue of concern to the scientific community in all countries of the world. As an important natural component of forest ecosystems, coarse woody debris(CWD)has high ecological values.Introducing CWD into urban greening is conducive to improving environmental problems caused by human activities and creating a natural and healthy urban ecological environment. Therefore, the study enrolled 148 participants who were asked to score 26 landscapes with or without CWD on a 7-level Likert scale and filled in the reason for the evaluation using questionnaires.Through the analysis and comparison of the preference scores of different photos, the public's aesthetic preference for different forms of CWD in different landscape environments was explored. The results showed that:1.The public generally considered that the landscape environment with dead wood elements has more visual aesthetic value;2.Reading textual information about the functions of CWD can increase the public's perception and preference for dead wood elements in the landscape;3.The public's preference for CWD had a very significant correlation with the type of landscape environment(the canopy of trees and shrubs). The preference scores of each landscape type from high to low were: blue space(5.16)> closed(4.78)> semi-open or semi-closed(4.60)> open(4.28);4.The public's preference for CWD had a very significant correlation with the type of its form. The preference scores of each form type from high to low were: strange shape(4.87)> regular shape(4.81)> seat shape(4.26)> messy stacking(4.18);5.Professional background(ecological knowledge)had a significant impact on thepublic preference of coarse woody debris, and the general public prefers the landscape environment with dead wood than the professional.Combining the above research results, this thesis provides theoretical basis and guidance for the rational selection and application of dead wood elements in urban landscape,in order to promote the positive effects of CWD in urban green spaces.
