Due to the shortage of land for urban development, new residential buildings in Kunming are dominated by high-rise buildings. The limited space available for the installation of solar collectors on the roofs of high-rise buildings has limited the application of solar water heating systems in high-rise residential buildings. To solve this problem,a combined solar water heating system is proposed in the study.Firstly, this paper analyzed the composition of the combined solar water heating system, and proposed a reasonable system composition. The design parameters were determined according to the relevant standards and regulations and the research results of scholars. Then, site tests were carried out on the balcony wall-mounted solar water heating system and the centralized solar water heating system respectively, and the software simulation model verification was carried out according to the test data. The verified model can be used for the analysis of the annual working conditions of the system.Next, the solar fraction and coverage rate were determined according to the simulation results of the combined solar water heating system in the whole year. Finally, the energy consumption and economy of the combined solar water heating system were analyzed to determine its economy and energy saving. The paper concludes the follows: the solar fraction of the balcony wall-mounted solar water heating system is 56.3%;at least 25% of the residents for tower high-rise residential buildings can install balcony wall-mounted solar water heating system;the reasonable water supply scope of the centralized solar water heating system is 14 floors in total;the application of the combined solar water heating system in high-rise buildings can effectively raise the solar coverage rate;when the building has more than 21 floors, the combined solar water heating system is more energy efficient and economical than the centralized solar water heating system. This study proves the technical feasibility and economic rationality of using the combined solar water heating system in high-rise residential buildings, and provides a basis for its popularization and application.Based on the sunshine analysis of typical high-rise residential buildings, the method to determine the number of balcony wall-mounted solar water heating system provides a reference for relevant research.
