Motivated by the need for developing the new multi-functional radar echo simulator system,the principle of the echo simulator and the model of both the target and active jamming are introduced and the key techniques of radar echo simulator are then developed in this thesis in order to design and implement a multi-functional radar IF echo simulator.The work of this thesis mainly refers to the following aspects:Firstly,high precision target echo simulation.Based on the detailed analysis of the target echo principle,this thesis gave the implementation method of the target characteristics such as range,velocity and so on.Aiming at the training requirements of ultra-wideband and high-resolution radar,a high-precision time delay implementation method of radar echo based on FPGA was proposed.The method can achieve the delay accuracy of the echo less than 0.5ns,so that the relevant performance and indicators in the simulator has been greatly improved.Secondly,complex jamming synthesis.In view of the fact that the electromagnetic environment of modern battlefield is becoming more and more complicated,this thesis studied the generation principle and the action mechanism of many kinds of active jamming,including deceptive jamming and repressive jamming.Then the corresponding implementation method was proposed.The modes of jamming simulated by the system is complete,which can meet the testing requirements of the modern radar on the complex battlefield environment.Thirdly,simulator system design and engineering implementation.The hardware and software design of the IF simulator system was proposed.And a implementation method of wide-band low spurious radar signal was proposed for the system self-test.Finally echo signal was generated using the specialized digital radio frequency memory(DRFM)module.The generated echo in the experiment demonstrates that the simulator system meets the requirements as the set parameters require and achieves high accuracy.
