With the growth of modularization of nuclear power plant,the modular design is applied from containment dome design in early plant to nuclear island arrangement design in AP1000 Advanced Passive Pressure Water Reactor.The application of modular design technology is more and more popular.Based on the principle of workshop prefabrication and parallel construction,the modular design can shorten the construction period,reduce the construction cost and enhance the economy of nuclear power plant.This paper is through the view of the manufacturability,constructability,operability and maintainability to research the modular design technology.This paper focus on following items:1)In convenient for module transportation and manufacturing,the principle and basic methods of modular division for nuclear power plant are studied;2)In order to meet the reliability,accessibility,operational requirements of module,the general arrangement of nuclear power plant in the concept of modular design is to be studied;3)To improve the design quality and efficiency of module,and also to establish specialization of work and interface,this paper studies the module design process in 3-D design environment;4)The paper studies module localization and design optimization in the view of material localization,design standardization,layout optimization,interface and installation improvement.In according with experience feedback from Sanmen&Haiyang AP1000 nuclear power plant,AP1000 localization standardization design and CAP1400 demonstration project,this paper summarized and development the modular design technology.The results can improve the accessibility,operability,maintainability,economy and standardization of module.It can further enhance design efficiency and quality,also reduce the cost level of module.
