Global warming,environmental pollution,energy crisis and so on are becoming serious social problems for our human beings.As the worldwide rising of the crude oil price,low carbon economy is getting more and more attention.At shipping operation stage,most demands are realized by various operation managements,while energy saving via trim adaptation need developes new technology and powerful data to support the technology.This technology is named as trim optimization,and will be studied in this thesis.In a ship loading computer task for an LPG ship in MARIC,a demand of energy saving via trim adaptation from the user is required.In order to meet the demand,the current loading computer system,Safeload,originally developed in MARIC,is modified.A module of trim optimization function is newly developed and integrated to Safeload.The data,supporting the trim optimization module,come either from CFD simulation or ship model test.These data have to input to the modified software,Safeload,beforehand.Picking up real-time floating state and navigational speed,Safeload will determine the optimal trim by carrying calculations inside.When the optimal trim is adjusted,it will save energy as great as possible.In this thesis,the new trim optimization module is developed and successfully integrated to Safeload.An application to the LPG ship,mentioned above,has been performed,and worked smoothly.It fully meets the initial demands and is accepted by the user.
