With the increasing demand for temperature sensitive products such as seafood products,biological agents,and dairy products,research on thermal insulation packaging for such products is becoming more and more important.Therefore,this paper studies the common thermal insulation packaging materials,corrugated carton and foamed polystyrene(expanded polystyrene,abbreviated as EPS)foam box packaging combination.Based on heat transfer theory,the insulation time estimation model of foam packaging box and corrugated box packaging combination was constructed.Verify the model by design test and analyze the influence of several factors on the heat preservation time of the package combination according to the test results.The model has certain practical guiding significance for the packaging of the products.In this paper,the heat transfer process of EPS foam box and corrugated box insulation package is analyzed.Based on the nature of the material,the heat transfer process of the package combination is simplified based on reasonable assumptions.The insulation time of the package combination is divided into two stages,and the calculation model of the insulation time of these two stages is established respectively.In this paper,three types of packaging combinations,two external ambient temperatures,two masses of cold storage agents,and two thickness corrugated boxes were selected for the insulation time measurement test of different packaging combinations.After statistical analysis of the measured data,the material parameters are substituted into the heat preservation time of the package combination under different packaging modes,and compared with the actual heat preservation time measured under the same conditions.Accuracy test of the established holding time calculation model by solving relative deviation,the accuracy factor A_f and the bias factor B_f.It is concluded that the relative deviation is between-2%and 5%,the accuracy factor A_f is 1.059,and the bias factor B_f is 0.959.This proves that the established packaging combination holding time calculation model has higher accuracy and can be used for estimating the holding time when the actual product is packaged.Through experimental research and data analysis,it is found that the four factors have certain influence on the holding time of the packaging combination.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The smaller the size of the packaging combination chose,the longer the holding time is;(2)The lower the external temperature is,the longer the holding time is;(3)The more the amount of coolant used,the longer the holding time is;(4)The thicker the thickness of the box is,the longer the holding time is.Among them,the quality of the cold accumulator added to the package has a very significant effect on the holding time,followed by the external ambient temperature,then the size of the package,and finally the thickness of the package.Combining the constructed model with the results of the test,several important factors affecting the holding time are obtained:(1)The size of the package combination size;(2)The temperature of the outer environment of the package combination;(3)The amount of coolant used in the package combination;(4)The phase change latent heat of the coolant;(5)The thickness of the corrugated box.According to the results,it is proposed the packaging choose method of temperature sensitive products in the actual thermal insulation package under the premise of meeting the product size requirements:(1)In the aspect of packaging selection,try to choose the packaging with small size and large thickness;(2)In the aspect of coolants selection,try to choose a cold storage agent with high phase change latent heat,and the quality of the coolant should be increased appropriately;(3)In terms of external temperature,try to control the temperature to a relatively low range.If necessary,use a refrigerated truck to transport,prevent product spoilage and ensure product quality When designing the thermal insulation package of the product,a reasonable and efficient packaging method should be selected according to the product condition,temperature demand,volume requirement,and so on.
