With the continuous development of the national Marine engineering,Marine craft and so on some offshore vessels to increasingly improve the control performance requirements,flap rudder as a kind of reliable,high lift rudder in recent years has attracted the attention of a great many design professionals.Therefore,the research on the design of the flap rudder is also becoming more and more important.So far,domestic and foreign experimental study was carried out on the flap rudder is less,is the complete lack of experimental data and can map for design and calculation of series.Designers in selecting type rudder hydrodynamic coefficients,often according to the empirical formula to estimate or manual measuring data of known map,the hydrodynamic coefficients have bigger error.In addition,due to the design process of the flap rudder workload big,complicated calculation process and low efficiency,requires designers a lot of time,not at the same time are compared,and a variety of design scheme and unable to get the optimal design.The rudder of the ship maneuvering performance has a great influence.Marine flap rudder is a kind of high lift rudder,can effectively improve the performance of rotary on the ship,has attracted the attention of a great designers in recent years.And the hydrodynamic performance of the study of Marine flap rudder is still mainly rely on traditional theory,experience and related test,long design period and high cost,inconvenience for Marine flap rudder design.The development of computational fluid dynamics to the numerical simulation can be applied to Marine flap rudder the hydrodynamic performance of the research,there are important for the design of the flap rudder.According to the appearance of a certain type of ship size and traditional design experience for the ship design the shape of the flap rudder,using the general CFD software FLUENT flap rudder open water circumstances hydrodynamic performance is simulated and studied the changing rule of the flap rudder and rudder force and the rudder Angle,and will compare the data and test data,good agreement between the two.Can be seen from the calculation results flap rudder and rudder force with main rudder Angle,the son of the rudder Angle increases and is higher than ordinary aerodynamic rudder.Wing steering rudder force with the main rudder Angle,the son of rudder Angle increases and is higher than ordinary aerodynamic rudder.Considering from the actual situation,to the ship after flap rudder hydrodynamic performance and distribution of the flow field numerical simulation,and study the hull have sideslip Angle relative flow cases of flap rudder hydrodynamic effect.Can be seen from the calculation results are influenced by hull flap rudder and rudder force than open water cases decreased and the left and right steering rudder force is different,when hull sideslip Angle flap rudder and rudder force will further reduce,but higher than ordinary aerodynamic rudder.
