With the further promotion of triple play service and the rapid development of broadcasting network service,the requirement of broadcasting network can not be met by SDH and MSTP network.Then packet transport network is consided as a very ideal solution.The basic principle and layered structure of PTN are discussed,with the comparison of traditional SDH and MSTP.The current situation of Jiangsu broadcasting cable information network(JSCN)transmission system is briefly described.The reliability of SDH and PTN is analyzed.According to the characteristics and the requirements of Jiangsu broadcasting network,the design of Jiangsu provincial trunk network scheme is shown.JSCN PTN system was installed in early 2018.However,the PTN system requires a lot of performance tests,so as to keep the system working properly and steadily.The form of separated ring test was proposed in this paper,which includes EPL network capacity test,EPL network delay test,EPL network packet loss rate test,L2 vpn speed limit test,TMP 1:1 protection test and LB /LT functional test.Proper and stable operation can be met by applying the form of separated ring test.The switching time limited under 50 ms is measured through the whole tests.The millisecond level of broadcasting network is fully met according to the tests.It can be concluded that PTN is an indispensable backbone network architecture of Jiangsu trunk broadcasting network.
