The production of bearing steel balls has surface defects due to processing technology,equipment accuracy,raw material quality and other reasons.According to the bearing industry standards,defects can be divided into five categories: group point defects,pit defects,travel defects and scratch defects.According to the relevant data at home and abroad,the surface defects,inner and outer rings of ball bearings have different effects on the stability of ball bearings.At present,in the bearing industry,the traditional visual inspection method is still used to detect the surface defects of steel balls,and its accuracy and stability are difficult to guarantee.In order to improve the detection efficiency and reliability,it is necessary to establish an automatic monitoring system for surface defects of steel balls.Among them,spherical surface deployment and surface defect automatic detection technology are the key and difficult points in the system.On the one hand,it is very difficult to detect because of the strong reflection on the surface of steel balls;on the other hand,defect detection requires that the surface of steel balls must be fully developed.In this paper,the existing bearing steel ball detection system is deeply understood and analyzed,the spherical full deployment system is innovated and improved,the mathematical model is established,the working principle of the air suspension system is analyzed,the key parameters and conditions of the air suspension deployment system are simulated by CFD fluid dynamics,and the three-dimensional design of the air suspension structure is carried out.An optical imaging system was built to acquire the surface information of steel balls by LED illumination.The surface morphology of steel balls was processed by image processing system,and the surface image of steel balls was mosaic.The image of defects on the whole surface of steel balls was obtained to verify the integrity of air suspension full deployment and to accurately judge whether the steel balls were qualified or not according to the technical indicators.In this paper,a system and an optical imaging system are built to process the defect detection,and the parameters of the air suspension deployment structure are debugged to ensure the integrity of the full deployment of the steel ball and to analyze the error sources of the defect detection results.The reliability of the method is verified by experiments,and the surface defects of steel balls can be accurately detected.
