| To investigate the fight performance of the compound helicopter,a lifting device and a thrust device were installed on the conventional helicopter.Based on this new compound helicopter, the calculation model of flight performance is established, and the appropriate parameters of wing and propeller are determined. The improvement of helicopter flight performance was studied separately by installing the wing, installing the propeller, and installing both at the same time.On this basis, the optimal lift share and thrust share are also discussed. The results indicate that the separate installation of the propeller can slightly reduce the power required at high speed and increase the maximum flight speed of the helicopter.Increasing the propeller speed, the radius or installation angle will cause the total power to decrease first and then increase. The helicopter take-off weight and flight height have a relatively small impact on the power savings. When installing the wing separately,it is slightly better than installing the propeller. At medium speed, the total power of the helicopter is reduced, and as the installation angle of the wing increases, the total power is gradually reduced. When the wing aspect ratio or area is larger, the lower the total power calculated, and the helicopter lift-to-drag is higher. The installation of the wing and the propeller simultaneously can further unload the rotor, thereby improving the flight performance of the helicopter at high speed. It has shown better results in reducing the total power, increasing the lift-to-drag ratio and the maximum forward speed of the helicopter. When the rotor speed is reduced, the power saving increases. With the forward speed increases, the wing should gradually assume the lift. The rotor becomes difficult to balance the forward flight resistance at high speed for the reduction of propeller thrust and when the wing supplements 60% lift, the improvement is better. The propeller should also gradually assume the thrust. When the propeller takes over 80% of the thrust, the maximum forward speed of the helicopter exceeds 400km/h. |
