At present,the data of gear transmission basic test at home and abroad is scarce,especially the complex force condition of spiral bevel gear.Almost no systematic test has been done in the world.The most test data of spiral bevel gear is from the standard test of cylindrical gear,the theoretical analysis is short of the accurate experimental data supporting,controlling the safety of margin is the long-standing issue.Therefore,it is urgent to design a set of fatigue test methods for spiral bevel gears to meet the strength test.In view of this,this paper designs a set of bending fatigue strength test method according to cylindrical gears' bending fatigue strength test.and designs a pair of suitable spiral bevel gears.Finally,the finite element fatigue life simulation and test-bed operation test of spiral bevel gears are carried out.The contents of this paper are as follows:1.The experimental method of bending fatigue strength test on cylindrical gears is introduced.Based on this,the method of bending fatigue strength test for bevel gears is deduced.A pair of spiral bevel gears were designed to meet the requirements,and the material of the test bevel gears is 20 CrNiMo.According to the bending fatigue limit of the cylindrical gears which were made from 20 CrNiMo,working environment and the geometrical parameters of the test bevel gears,so the approximate range of the ultimate torque of the test bevel gears was predicted.And the conversion relationship between the applied torque and the bending stress of root of the small gear was obtained.It provides data support for continuous simulation and experiment.2.Building accurate model for test bevel gear.According to the principle of V-H contact area inspection,the contact of test bevel gear tooth surface was adjusted to big end,middle end and small end,and the gear was cut and saved.The finite element software ANSYS Workbench was used to analyze the transient dynamics of three kinds of bevel gears with different tooth contact area.Obtaining different contact stress and bending stress of tooth root,also the data was collated and analyzed.3.The fatigue life analysis software ANSYS nCode Design Life was used to calculate the fatigue life of the test bevel gears under three survival rates,and the fatigue life nephogram was obtained.Using successive approximation method,the PS-N curves of spiral bevel gears which using 20 CrNiMo as gear material are obtained.4.The bending fatigue test of bevel gears is carried out based on Locati rapid testmethod.The test results are counted and analyzed.The bending fatigue limit value is obtained when 20 CrNiMo is used as the material of bevel gears.The paper achieves the expected purpose.The finite element fatigue life simulation and test-bed operation test of spiral bevel gears,which are help for gear design calculation and revision of industry standards.
