As the emerging of intelligent transportation systems, the vehicle ad-hoc networks(VANETs)has drawn more and more attentions. In VANETs,vehicles can exchange information with other vehicles or roadside infrastructure via wireless networks, thereby the driver is endowed with the ability of predicting and sensing the driving environment, thus driver safety is ensured and traffic accidents can be greatly. However, due to the openness of the wireless network, vehicles are vulnerable to various malicious attacks,it is vital to develop corresponding security mechanisms to ensure the security of vehicle communication.Authentication is a central method of ensuring communication security. However, the high-speed mobility of the vehicles requires that the authentication scheme used in VANETs must be efficient. Therefore, how to design secure and efficient authentication schemes is an urgent task for VANETs security research.Since exist gaps in security and efficiency for the existing most authentication schemes in accordance with the practical requirements, the research goal of this paper is to balance the security and efficiency, and propose authentication schemes for VANETs that can meet actual needs better. The main contributions of this paper are as follows:1.Aiming at the problem of privacy leakage in the process of identity authentication in VANETs,an anonymous authentication scheme based on trust extension authentication mechanism is proposed. Most of the existing authentication schemes for VANETs are based on strong security assumptions. Many schemes can acheive anonymous authentication, but they ignore the linkability between messages. The proposed scheme weakens the security assumption of the vehicle, and acheives unlinkability of messages of the authentication process based on the trust extension authentication mechanism.Simultaneously, the anonymous authentication of the secure communication process is realized, which effectively protects the user’s privacy.Furthermore, security analysis and experiments show that the proposed scheme has some advantages in terms of security and performance.2.An anonymous authentication scheme with controllable linkability is proposed to keep a balance between user privacy protection and personalized service in VANETs.With a preassigned link key, only the service provider can provide personalized service for the user through determining the linkability between messages. The elliptic curve operations are chiefly used to form the scheme, which greatly reduce the complexity of the construction.Additionally, this scheme achieves the message controllable linkability, identity anonymity, threshold authentication, message unforgeability and conditional traceability.Furthermore, compared with other similar anonymous authentication schemes, the proposed scheme achieves more security features and comparatively high efficiency. |
