Basing on the newest Chinese policy,the vehicle must meet the standard,which is 6.9L per 100 kilometer.Compared with foreign and joint venture brand,self-owned brand don't have the advantage on engine,therefore reducing aerodynamic resistance become the breakthrough of energy saving for a lot of automotive companies.Automobile styling is an important phase in the vehicle development.The key points for the styling are the artistic design aesthetics and aerodynamic.For artistic design,it focus on appearance,brand inheritance,user experience;but for aerodynamic,it focus on resistance.The focusing of two sciences is totally different,so how to combine them become a challenging content.The author try to find out some styling factors on the relationship between the styling and aerodynamic by CFD for a certain MPV.Then the author optimize these areas,for example front wheel cover,D pillar,wing mirror,spoiler,to reach the purpose of reducing aerodynamic resistance and fuel consumption.This article also tries to change the design flow on the wing mirror to reach the purpose of shortening the vehicle developed program.
