| As the increasingly worse of living environment,human being is trying best to reduce the pollution.Lots of industries such as transportation,general industry and heavy duty truck have higher and higher requirements of emissions as well as combustion engine.In this situation,the study of engine components design influence on engine consumption and emission is manful.has Piston is a critical component which is facing constantly increased requirements of thermal and mechanical load.Aluminum piston has reached its own maximum load which is easy to cause fatigue failure.This article firstly introduce the diesel engine development status in both China and out of China,also analysis the status of piston technical development,which is including piston raw material(aluminum and steel)and piston design structure.Here is a reach of high-load diesel engine piston durability and try to find a design change to enhance piston’s durability ability and lead to a success of diesel engine development.In this article we analysis piston thermal and mechanical fatigue with the application of FEA analysis.With diesel engine piston 6 cylinders 10.5L displacement example,we make the analysis of this Piston combustion bowl,bowl edge,skirts and pin bore as well as pin and figure out the potential risk.Also use dynamic testing system DTE to value the strength of Piston combustion bowl,skirts and pin bore.Also fully carry out the engine durability test to analysis the root cause of piston crack.With the analysis result,propose to change and reduce the ovality of piston to improve the strength.Then use FEA to evaluate the new design and finally to re-run the durability test the new design.With the design change and coMParison of test result,reduce the ovality of piston properly can improve the piston durability ability. |
