With exhaust gas emission level becoming more and more strict,diesel engines fuelled by traditional oil are difficult to be satisfied with the requirements.For it is convenient to make voyage from coastal area to Yangtze River,small scale LNG multigas carriers which are fuelled by nature gas will have fine prospects for development,as they can transfer LNG from large LNG terminal to inland city without air pollution.The purpose of the research in this thesis is to design a whole M/E gas fuel system with proprietary intellectual property rights for small scale LNG – multigas carrier,aiming at breaking the monopoly of foreign companies.With the world's first WinGD 5RT-flex50 DF engine as the object of study,considering the actual demands and class rule requirements,the thesis gives its first design of typical self-pressurized fuel gas system and its auxiliary system for small scale LNG – multigas carrier by comparative analysis of natural gas fuelled diesel engines and fuel gas supply system.Using knowledge of heat transfer theory,the thesis provides quantitative analysis for some key equipments of fuel gas system,such as pressure build unit(PBU),LNG forced vaporizer,fuel gas heater and fuel gas compressors,realized the application of heat transfer theory in the actual engineering project.
