Buckling-restrained braces(BRB)is a new type of bracing members that combines dual functions of normal bracing with metal damper. It is mainly composed of bracing core and peripheral restraint members. There is usually unbonded material or suitable gap between the bracing core and the peripheral restraint members in order to release the expansive deformation generated by compression deformation of bracing core.Under the action of minor earthquakes, the buckling brace is equivalent to the center bracing without instability, which provides lateral rigidity to the main structure of the building.Under the action of a moderate earthquake or a large earthquake, the bracing inner core can be pulled full-section yielding without component buckling under the state of tension and pressure, providing damping of the seismic energy to the bulk structure. In this thesis,a kind of rectangle section steel plate as the core and the a channel iron as the outer unit is proposed. The core with a rectangle section steel plate and a peripheral restraining members achieve stable restraint effects by their own construction.Through the deep research on its anti-seismic failure mechanism and mechanical properties, the low-cycle reciprocating experiments show that the hysteretic model and the skeleton curve have superior mechanical properties in structural anti-seismic and meet the requirements of Code for Design of Seismic Design of Buildings(GB50011-2010)Requirements.Besides,large-scale finite element analysis software for optimal design is used to simulation analysis of mechanical properties to verify the reliability of the test results.
