As an important part of train running,the health of wheelset has an important impact on the safe operation of train.With the increasing of train speed,people put forward higher requirements for the safety of train wheelset.This thesis makes an in-depth study on the detection technology of train wheelset defects,and uses computer technology and ultrasonic detection technology to design and develop the follow-by-type flaw detection system of train wheelset rim,which can be used to detect wheel tread defects and inner defects of wheel rims.The system adopts the method of multi-channel combined flaw detection,combines electromagnetic ultrasonic detection(EMAT)technology with conventional ultrasonic detection(UT)technology,selects suitable EAMT coil and piezoelectric ultrasonic probe,and designs the probe array according to the requirements of wheelset detection.The wheel tread defects and internal circumferential and radial cracks of the rim were detected by the method of following detection without falling wheel.Using wireless communication to transmit command and flaw detection data,and wavelet analysis is used to filter and reduce noise of the received original signal to filter out the non-effective signal in the flaw detection signal,then a series of data processing,such as pre-processing,screening and conversion,are carried out to complete the acquisition and display of wheel defect data.The upper computer of the system adopts LabVIEW as the development platform,follows the design idea of the data flow,and adopts the tower structure to design,the system consists of four main modules: the wheelset flaw detection module,the user management module,the parameter setting module and the safety exit module,each module has a clear division of labor,can give the location and type of defects accurately and intuitively,support the multi-type display of flaw detection results,and support the generation of wheel inspection reports,and the wheel detection results can be associated with the vehicle management system of locomotive depot to realize the integrated management of train wheelsets.In this thesis,follow-by-type flaw detection system is used to test the sample wheel and in-service wheelset for many times.The results show that the system has high automation,good stability,high detection precision and accurate defect location.The comprehensive performance can meet the expected design requirements and has very big market economy value and the social value.
