Lifting gearbox of wire rope electric hoist is the key component of wire rope electric hoist and hoist unit,plays the function of lifting and lowering load.It must be ensured to work safely and reliably during the service life time.Because of the weight proportion of lifting gearbox in hoist unit of wire rope electric hoist is larger,the lightweight design of it can reduce the weight of wire rope electric hoist,improve its performance,enhance market competitiveness,and so besides to meet the service life time,optimization design of 3 stages of helix gears,bearing,housing and cover in lifting gearbox of wire rope electric hoist is needed.In this paper,firstly the minimum of the volume of three-stage helical gears is taken as the optimization objective,the method of SQP(sequential quadratic programming)is used,and by the combination of Matlab and VB programming the optimum design of three-stage helical gears of lifting gearbox of electric wire rope hoist is carried out.In order to improve the strength of the optimized helical gears further,the tooth modification is carried out.After the modification,the contact fatigue strength of the tooth surface is increased by 7.11% on average.The bending fatigue strength of tooth root is increased by 3.30%.Secondly by using the three stage helical gear bearing life checking program,the type selection and optimization of the bearings in the lifting gearbox are carried out,the optimum bearings which can meet the design life and fit the transmission shafts are obtained.Thirdly by the static analysis and modal analysis of the lifting gearbox in Ansys it can be ensured to meet the requirement of strength,stiffness and natural frequency.Finally,through the endurance test of wire rope electric hoist,the correctness of the optimization design of the lifting gearbox of wire rope electric hoist is verified.
