Rotary desiccant wheel is widely used both in industry and domestic areas to remove moisture.While the solid desiccant used in the wheel can not only absorb moisture,but also some air pollutants.In this paper,a test bench is designed in order to test on the moisture and contaminant remove performance of silica gel rotary desiccant wheel.Through the data received,the influence of some key operating parameters can be analyzed.Humidity and temperature are closely related,but in the process of industrial production and people’s daily life,its importance is no less than temperature.With the continuous development of science and technology,the whole society is constantly improving,and people’s standards on the quality of living are getting higher and higher.The air delivered into the indoor area by the air conditioning system is required not only that it should have right temperature and humidity,but also the concentration of pollutants in the air be at a low level.Air pollutants conclude biological pollutants and chemical pollutants,and chemical pollutants include particulate pollutants and volatile organic compounds(VOCs).Among all the air pollutants,VOCs are the most difficult ones to remove.Desiccant wheel device is mainly used to remove moisture in the air,so as to achieve the purpose of controlling indoor air humidity.It is a typical air-conditioning device to dehumidify through raising the temperature.Desiccant wheel technology is a kind of solid adsorption dehumidification technology.Under normal circumstances,the concentration of volatile organic compounds in indoor and outdoor air is only a few milligrams per cubic meter,which is far below the water content in the air.Therefore,when the silicon removes moisture in the air,it absolutely has excess capacity to adsorb the volatile organic compounds in the air.This paper mainly explores the influence of regeneration temperature,treatment air volume,regeneration air volume and air moisture content on the dehumidification capacity,dehumidification efficiency and air purification efficiency of dehumidification wheel.Through long-term data collection and analysis,the following conclusions are drawn:Small silicone wheels in the dehumidification and removal of pollutants have good feasibility and recycling;Wheel dehumidifier capacity and dehumidification efficiency will increase with the regeneration temperature increases;the higher the moisture content in the air,the dehumidification efficiency will be lower.When the air moisture content is relatively small,with the air moisture content increases,the dehumidification efficiency has a slight decrease,but still at a high level,but when the air moisture content is relatively large,as the air moisture content increases,the dehumidification efficiency will be significantly reduced;the larger the amount of air treatment,the wheel dehumidification capacity and dehumidification efficiency will be reduced accordingly.The greater the amount of regenerated air,the rotor dehumidification capacity and dehumidification efficiency will have a corresponding increase;higher regeneration temperature,pollutants purification efficiency of the wheel will be higher;the higher the concentration of pollutants,the efficiency of the wheel to purify the indoor pollutants will decline,but not a linear relationship;the greater the amount of wind treatment,the efficiency of the wheel to purify the indoor pollutants will be smaller.The larger the amount of regenerated air,the greater the efficiency of the wheel to purify the indoor pollutants;when the air moisture content is relatively low,with the increase of humidity,the purifying efficiency of the wheel on the pollutants slightly decreases.When the humidity is high,the efficiency of the wheel’s purification of pollutants will drop sharply.In this paper,we demonstrate that the wheel system has the function of purifying the indoor air by experiment.However,some other problems need to be solved to realize the domesticization of the wheel.The regeneration process in the system used in this article is achieved by a set of electric heating device,but electric heating device is very energy-consuming and not suitable for home use.In further research,we can try to use solar energy and other clean energy instead of electricity to heat the wheel in the regeneration process.
