| With the development of the modern chemical industry,the size of bulk liquid chemical tanker now is becoming much larger than before.In order to comply with the restricted port and terminal’s capability and also to keep the big vessel focusing on big quantity cargo,the transshipment operation now is still an indispensable operation in bulk liquid chemical transportation.The goal of the shipping company to operate the ship is to gain the maximum profit by increasing the income and reducing the expenditure.Once the operating income has been determined and under the premise of ensuring safety,the method of minimizing cost will be the only way to seek profit maximization.Transshipment operation can choose the ship with suitable size basis the specific conditions of those ports and terminals,and also can improve the efficiency of the port operation,make full use of port resources and reduce the port congestion.In addition,transshipment operation can improve the shipping company’s efficiency on ship operation,reduce the operation cost for the whole voyage and the transportation cost for the transshipped cargo.Of course,the transshipment of bulk liquid chemical is based on sufficient safety and an acceptable level of risk.Due to the risk of liquid chemicals and the serious result of the accident if any,the transshipment of bulk liquid chemical products must be carried out under the premise of enough safety and risk control.In this paper,a risk quantitative evaluation system has been established.The risk identification and evaluation of transshipment operation for bulk liquid chemical products could be carried out.Besides,the effect of transshipment on the overall shipping operation cost has also been studied.This thesis mainly analyzed and studied the transshipment operation of bulk liquid chemical tankers from two aspects,risk and economy. |
