In recent years, with the improvement of auto-parts quality in China and low production cost than some foreign countries, there are more and more auto-parts which were produced in China and exported abroad. In order to increase the profits, many automotive companies gradually put emphasis on exporting business. And the consolidated transportation of exporting auto-parts is one of the important node. This paper mainly studied the consolidated transportation problem of exporting auto-parts.It’s the dock scheduling and vehicle routing problem with heterogeneous fleet and multi-trip.The paper first reviewed research on vehicle routing problem and dock scheduling problem, and introduced several exact and heuristics algorithms. Then according to the feature of consolidated transportation of exporting auto-parts,this paper built relevant model.Since the number of docks in consolidation center and the number of vehicles in the fleet were constant, the goal was to reduce the variable costs of exporting auto-parts’ consolidated transportation.Based on the above model, this paper designed a kind of two-level genetic algorithm and verified it through solving instance of the automotive company’s exporting auto-parts consolidation center in Yantai city and compared results with CPLEX Optimization. It demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.Meanwhile,it also showed that the algorithm could help consolidation center made decisions about daily operation and reduced the costs.Generally speaking, this study complemented the previous research on vehicle routing problem.
