Common small(or micro)aircrafts usually include fixed-wing aircraft,helicopters and multi-rotor aircraft.Among which the small and medium-sized quad-rotor aircraft is the most popular in the market.The basic function of consumer small quad-rotor aircraft normally includes filming video,at the same time it also has the functions of autonomous flight,autonomous obstacle avoidance and so on.With the increasing market demand of small rotor aircraft and the continuous progress of components and control technology,the design of the small quad-rotor aircraft is developing towards higher quality video filming,portable,longer flying time and more autonomous obstacle avoidance flight.This paper mainly studies the hardware design of the small quad-rotor aircraft,and explains how to improve the hardware design to meet the requirements of the current small quad-rotor aircraft for high picture quality,portable and long flying time.The main contents of this paper include the following four points:1)Give a brief instruction of the development of current quad-rotor aircraft design and the challenge which it takes to hardware design;2)Combined with the development of the mainstream control platform for the current small quad-rotor aircraft,select the main control chip that meets the design requirements,analyze the power demand and complete hardware-design of the main control module,power system,ESC system and sensor module;3)Instructions of the reason of chips and components select,especially for the selection of power supply system components and the method of optimizing transmission power under the weight requirement and the area limitation of circuit board;4)Function test of the system.Complete the functional test of the whole system and the performance test of the main functional modules,and verify whether the test results meet the design requirements.This paper based on the specific requirements and difficulties on the hardware design of the small quad-rotor aircraft,complete an engineering practice of hardware design of small quad-rotor aircraft flight control system based on corresponding theoretical analysis and test.The research in this paper mainly provides practical reference for hardware design of small quad-rotor flight control system.
