As an alternative fuel for diesel engine,bioalcohol diesel blends have great potential in the reduction of soot emission.Also,bioalcohol diesel blends have wide raw material sources and low price.They own a broad prospect in application.In this article,the fuels used are hydrated ethanol diesel emulsions and butanol diesel blends.We researched the preparation,physichemical properties and spray penetration.The purpose of the research is to promote the use of bioalcohol diesel blends.The hydrated ethanol diesel emulsions and butanol diesel blends are prepared by volume percentage with aqueous ethanol(20% water)and butanol.To improve the stability of hydrated ethanol diesel emulsions,we put emulsifier and co-emulsifier in them.Physichemical properties are the reason of the difference of all kinds of fuels' spray characteristics.We tested the fuels' density,surface tension,kinematic viscosity,et al.Besides,oxygen percentage,cetane number,low heating value,et al was calculated.At last,with the Constant Volume Pre-combustion Cell system,we used shadow graph and Mie-scattering method to study the spray penetration process of bioalcohol diesel blends,then we calculated the penetration distance and spray angle with image processing,to explain the spray behavor difference of bioalcohol diesel blends,we also used three kinds of spray models to study on it.
