Nowadays,the automobile industry has developed into a pillar industry of the national economy and has made greater contributions to the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way.However,in the research and development intensity and design level of automobiles,China's automobile industry still lags behind developed countries.With the improvement of economic society and living standards,people's attention to the performance and comfort of automobiles has gradually increased.As a cooling fan,one of the important components of the car,its performance has a very important impact on the energy consumption and emissions of the engine.Therefore,it is very important to study the design of high-efficiency and low-noise cooling fans.The development of traditional cooling fans relies on a wealth of experience and extensive testing.With the development of computer technology and calculation methods,computational fluid dynamics(CFD)is gradually being widely used.CFD simulation has the characteristics of short development cycle,low cost and rich characteristics of flow field.It also becomes an important part in the design and research process of cooling fan.This paper first explains the working principle of engine cooling fan and its related performance evaluation parameters.Secondly,the performance test of cooling fan is carried out to obtain not only the aerodynamic performance curves of static pressure,power and static pressure efficiency but also the flow rate and the noise value of each group of rotating speed..The CFD calculation model used for analyzing aerodynamic performance and noise is established.The Fluent software is used to select SIMPLE and PISO algorithm to calculate the aerodynamic performance and noise respectively.The experimental verification proves the correctness of the CFD model and calculation method.At the same time,the flow field characteristics of the fan are analyzed by using the software post-processing technology.Drawing on the structural characteristics of the three creatures including the front wing structure of the warship bird,the sinusoidal distribution structure of the eagle wing tail,and the non-smooth pit structure of the stern surface respectively,four bionic fans are designed based on the original fan digital model.Aerodynamic performance and noise calculations are performed.Univariate analysis of the bionic fan shows that the leading edge bionic structure can improve the fan static pressure and static pressure efficiency,but the noise will increase;t The noise reduction effect of sinusoidal structure at the rear edge is obvious,but it will reduce aerodynamic performance.It is also found that the pit structure can not only reduce noise,but also improve the static pressure and static pressure efficiency of the cooling fan.For the coupled structure,the coupled bionic fan with three structures and the coupled fan with leading edge plus trailing edge have obvious noise reduction effect and can guarantee the original aerodynamic performance of the fan.
