The collapse of steel frame structures under earthquake has always happened,especially in developing countries.In order to ensure the safety of structures under earthquake,we need to understand the collapse process of steel structures and find a method to accurately predict the collapse of steel structures.In this paper,the mainpurpose is to predict the collapse of steel structures under strong earthquakes.Although in recent years,structural collapse has been studied from static to dynamic direction,it is still a problem to predict the collapse of structures in real life.In recent years,energy-based collapse criterion has been proposed.The main principle of energy-based collapse criterion is that the work done by gravity increases rapidly when the structure collapses.When gravity energy increases more than the input energy of earthquake,thenthe structure will collapses.When gravity energy does not exceed the input energy of earthquake,the structure does not collapse.that is,the work done by the structure to resist gravity load.ABAQUS finite element software is used to simulate the dynamic response of steel frame structure under earthquake,considering the damage model of steel structure,considering the effect of different ground peak acceleration(PGA),and considering whether the structure collapses under different ground motions.Incremental dynamic analysis(IDA)is also used in this paper,which is one of the most commonly used methods for predicting structural collapse under extreme earthquakes.Incremental dynamic analysis method mainly chooses ground peak acceleration(PGA)as IM criterion and Peak IDR as DM criterion.IDA analysis method and energy-based collapse analysis method are compared and analyzed to predict structural collapse under earthquake action,and the same prediction results are obtained.The data are processed by ABAQUS finite element software.Under the action of earthquake,the steel structure will collapse and not collapse.In this paper,the initial damage first occurs on the first floor when the structure collapses,and the steel structure will collapse completely when the earthquake continues to load.For the prediction of structural collapse,the main parameters of gravity work based on energy collapse criterion and the main parameters of interstory-drift ratio based on DM criterion are mainly developed by using the secondary development of ABAQUS software,i.e.using Python to write programs and extract the data from the post-processing of ABAQUS to calculate.
