Any three-phase network characterized by the presence of inactive power components, such as reactive power and active power variables, which not caused by the symmetry or nonlinearity of the load.It is known that higher harmonics lead to overheating of cables, electric motors and transformers, false operation of circuit breakers, overheating and failure of capacitors, reset of neutral wires,as well as a significant reduction in the efficiency of transmission and energy conversion. The situation is even more complicated, given the trend of transition from unregulated to regulated electric drive,as controlled converters(thyristor converters for DC motors, thyristor voltage regulators and frequency converters for AC motors)themselves are generators of higher harmonics for the power supply network. Therefore,to date, the problem of compensation of the higher harmonic components of the current and the variable components of the power does not lose its relevance. The main aim of the work is to develop and study the modes of operation system of compensation of variable components instantaneous power and higher harmonics current and power supply with nonlinear consumers. The aim is achieved by solving the following tasks:(1)analysis of the use of active compensators that can improve energy efficiency in the presence of significant non-linear consumers;(2)analysis of existing power theories that offer mathematical descriptions and interpretations of power components;(3)development of a mathematical model and investigated the modes of operation network with a thyristor DC drive and system compensation. To achieve the stated objectives the following methods were applied: cross-vector capacity theory;methods of modelling electromechanical systems;mathematical packages MATLAB and Mathcad. The results show partial compensation of higher harmonics of the current and decreasing of the voltage distortion of the source network, the full compensation of the reactive power and decreasing twice the variable constituent of the active capacity, that positively benefits the increase of the transmission capacity of the source current and the decrease of the energy loses herein.
