With the rapid development of China’s automobile industry, the vehicular technology based on intellectualization and informatization came into being. As an important part of the future unmanned and even Intelligent Transportation System(ITS),the performance of vehicular communication system directly determines the safe, fast and orderly driving of automobiles. With the increasing complexity of traffic conditions, people are increasingly demanding the technical requirements of the Internet of Vehicles. The study of the physical layer of the Internet of Vehicles-the propagation characteristics of wireless channels,is the basis for further research on the network layer and application layer. The explosive development of 5th Generation(5G)has brought rare opportunities for the development of the Internet of Vehicles, but also accompanied by many technical challenges. This paper mainly studied and completed the following tasks based on Sub-project of National Science and Technology Major Project:(1)The current development background at home and abroad, research status and existing important and difficult problems of the vehicular technology are investigated,at the same time,a brief review and summary of the relevant protocols and standards for the Internet of Vehicles will help to have a clear understanding of the physical layer specifications. In addition, the principle of radio wave propagation, channel sounding method and channel modeling principle are summarized, which lays a theoretical foundation for the research of broadband wireless channel for vehicular communication at 3.5 GHz;(2)Based on the multi-carrier spread spectrum technology, the frequency domain channel measurement method is used to study the wireless channel characteristics of the 3.5 GHz frequency band, and different measurement schemes are formed according to different antenna configurations of the transceiver, different driving speeds and motion directions of the receiver.According to the principle of statistical channel modeling, the large-scale parameters and the small-scale parameters are extracted and analyzed, which provides more comprehensive wireless channel information and relatively reliable scientific research basis for 3.5 GHz vehicular scenarios in time-varying environments;(3)Based on the deterministic channel modeling principle of ray-tracing method, the vehicular channel under the measurement scenario is simulated and modeled, and the geometric model and related electromagnetic correction parameters are used to output the channel impulse response of the simulation scenario. The wireless channel data of the simulation scenario is extracted from the angle domain that cannot be obtained by the actual measurement. At the same time, the correlation between the seven main wireless channel characteristic parameters in the simulation scenario is also studied. This not only complements the measured vehicular channel, but also provides a relatively complete parameter group of vehicular wireless channel characteristics at 3.5 GHz.
