Since the layouts of bus transit networks in Chinese cities are always irrational currently,it is necessary to optimize the transit network layout systematically.Different stakeholders are involved in the optimization of urban bus transit network layouts whose interests are always contradictory.A pure electric bus network is taken as the research object in this research to coordinate conflicts between bus network operators and bus travelers based on the proposed multi-objective model and the proposed solution algorithm.The two objective functions of bus network optimization in this study are minimize the total operating costs of the bus network operators for one operation day and minimize the total travel time of all bus travelers.In addition,this research decomposes the total operating costs of bus operators into vehicle maintenance costs and operating costs,and the operating costs of all lines are related to mileage.Moreover,this work also decomposes travel time of travelers into waiting time and travel time.In view of the better fault tolerance ability of the simulated annealing algorithm and the better global search ability which genetic algorithm has,this study nests the proposed simulated annealing algorithm and the proposed genetic algorithm to be the solution algorithm for the proposed multi-objective model,and the proposed simulated annealing algorithm is nested with the proposed genetic algorithm to solve the model.The proposed simulated annealing algorithm is used as the main framework of the solution algorithm to optimize the total operating costs of the urban bus network layout from the view point of operators,while the proposed genetie algorithm is used as a subroutine of the proposed simulated annealing algorithm to optimize the total travel time of the urban bus network layout from the perspective of the travelers.Moreover,the numerical test i5 used with two eases of symmetry and asymmetry travel matrix in this work to verify whether the proposed model and the solution algorithm are rational or not,and sensitive analysis of the partial parameter in the proposed algorithm is discussed to verify its applicability.It is found that the proposed optimization model and the solution algorithm in this research can optimize the urban bus network layout from the perspective of balancing different stakeholders,which reflects the optimization effect of bus network structure under different benefit-driven principles.Furthermore,the sensitivity analysis of the partial parameter in the solution algorithm demonstrates that it indeed affects the final result and reflects the interests between the bus network operators and the bus travelers are contradictory.
