| In recent past,huge development has been observed in existing HVDC up-rating schemes,in addition to converting the present AC lines to DC and to develop new HVDC schemes,increases the interest of researcher to focus in DC.For reviewing the reliability to design transmission line the performance of HVDC critical parameters like corona loss,audible noise and radio interference are taken into account.Corona discharge in air depends on various factors such as ambient whether condition,altitude,roughness of conductor.Corona onset voltage of electrostatic precipitators(ESP)is investigated.Finite difference method used to execute poison and current continuity equations simultaneously.MATLAB program is use for computer simulation to estimate electric field intensity and electric field distribution.Pressure and temperature is take into consideration to evaluate its effect on corona onset voltage.Developed peek’s formula used to calculate maximum electric field and corona onset voltage for various values of pressure and temperature near electrode.The effect of gap distance and radius of electrode is also consider.It is observe that the pressure and temperature effect the maximum electric field and corona onset voltage.The influence of gap distance between electrode and ground plate is no much effective while radius of electrode effect the corona onset voltage.It is evident that at low pressure and high temperature when we increase the radius of electrode then corona onset voltage rises. |
