In recent years, with the advancement of science and technology and the continuous improvement of people's living standards, automobiles have become an indispensable tool in people's daily fast-paced life.As a result, indicators such as power, comfort, safety, and environmental protection have become increasingly stringent standards.Among them, security is undoubtedly the most important.Frequent traffic accidents not only deplete people's property, but also threaten life safety. In particular,rear-end collisions account for more than half of the accidents. Therefore, the effective collection and analysis of the state of the vehicle ahead and the early warning of the longitudinal collision will prevent the hidden dangers from being in the bud,and can play a vital role in reducing the occurrence of rear-end collisions.Effective and accurate anti-collision warning for vehicles in motion has always been an important issue in the field of intelligent transportation. The research content will be divided into three main parts:the collection and processing of information, the modeling of the preceding vehicle and the tracking algorithm of the preceding vehicle, and the design and hardware implementation of the anti-collision warning system.Firstly, this paper introduces the advantages of selecting millimeter wave radar as the information acquisition tool in this subject and designing the corresponding data analysis program based on its principle and function of ranging and speed measurement as the data source of early warning. Then, for the possible movement trend of the preceding vehicle of the same lane movement,a suitable motion model is selected Based on this, the Kalman filter algorithm is introduced to track the target model and predict its subsequent motion. Then by simulating some motion scenes and Matlab simulation, the feasibility of the above algorithm is verified. Finally, the vehicle braking process and the factors affecting the braking distance are analyzed, and the concept of minimum safety distance is introduced, that is,the minimum safety braking distance is designed and the specific anti-collision warning system is designed. The STM32 development board is used as the core to attach the millimeter wave radar and GPS modules, build hardware and complete the entire early warning system.
