Research on traffic calming measures(TCM)technology in our country started rather late.However,with technology development and road infrastructure construction,traffic calming technology has a extensive prospect.At present,domestic and foreign countries have already regulated the speed limit road and area,some local roads and school speed limit areas have been used for TCM.Therefore,it is especially important to study the TCM under different speed limit conditions.Firstly,this paper reviews domestic and foreign literature to conclude the current status and shortcomings of traffic calming technology development.Combined with the application of current TCM in our country,four kinds of TCM such as speed hump,speed bump,chicane and traffic circle are selected for further research under different speed limit conditions.Secondly,determine the definition of traffic calming and classify the traffic calming measures.This paper discusses the applicable conditions of TCM and the effects and problems after implementation.Thirdly,conduct experiment and evaluation index selection.The experimental data is collected in the field and is mainly divided into two parts.Bushnell speedometer was used in the first part to measure vehicle data.The second part is to recruit school volunteers to drive experiments.The experimental data was preliminarily sorted by SPSS value analysis,and the four indicators,such as speed reduction,operating efficiency,environmental impact and traffic safety are selected to evaluate the TCM.Four index values were studied using preset speed limit and average speed difference,average delay time,vehicle exhaust and acceleration standard deviation.VISSIM microscopic simulation and MOVES model lay the foundation for research through microscopic simulation calibration and localization of MOVES models.MOVES model runs via Java program,process the results of the model run using the MySQL database.Four TCM effects compare through four indicators.Finally,simulated 30 times using VISSIM for four TCM under different speed limit conditions for better simulation of realistic vehicle flow and arrival distribution.Using the one-factor ANOVA analysis and the Host Tukey test,the four TCM were analyzed and ranked,and the priority of the four TCM was obtained in four aspects:speed reduction,operating efficiency,environmental impact and traffic safety.Matlab software was used to calculate the weight of each index in the analytic hierarchy process to provide reference and basis for the comprehensive evaluation of TCM.
