With the continuous development of new energy vehicle technology,electronic technology and automobile Internet technology,various types of electric vehicles have become a hot spot in the field of automotive research and development in our country.Due to the reason that the driving force of each driving wheel can be independently controlled for differential power steering,the four-wheel independent drive electric vehicle can have smaller turning radius,faster response time,more flexible and portable control and higher stability than traditional vehicles.Based on the natural fund project of Liaoning provincial department of science and technology "research on EPS control of four-wheel independent drive electric vehicle"(201602369),this paper studies the electric power steering control,differential power steering control and steering stability control of four-wheel independent drive electric vehicle,including the following aspects:(1)The mathematical model of electric power steering system(including power motor),hub motor,and Matlab/Simulink simulation model were established,and the above simulation model was integrated into the b-class reference vehicle in CarSim to form a correct complete vehicle model of electric vehicle.(2)The controllable strategy and the control algorithm of electric power steering system(EPS)were determined,and their rationality were verified by simulation calculation.(3)Regarding the shortcomings of EPS and a steering stability control strategy was proposed,and the rationality of this strategy was verified by simulation calculation.(4)Through the hardware simulation test in the ring,the combined impact of three control strategies of EPS,and steering stability control strategy on the steering characteristics of four-wheel independently driven electric vehicles were examined.These characteristics include small steering radius at low speed,light steering,large steering radius at high speed,and stable steering.
