In underwater acoustic engineering applications such as underwater target detection,location and navigation,it is often necessary to use sensor devices such as submarine transponders and sea surface buoys.Target is located by measuring the target radiated or reflected acoustic signals to each sensor's time of arrival(TOA),angle of arrival(DOA),and time difference to different sensors.This paper focuses on an underwater multi-target locating and tracking system,proposes a feasible solution for the purpose of achieving underwater multi-target locating and tracking.The research contents of this paper mainly includes the following aspects: Discussing the fundamentals of several common geometric locating algorithms,including the locating algorithm based on signal arrival time,arrival angle and arrival time difference.The method of locating by using the received signal strength based on the physical principle is also briefly introduced.Then the locating algorithm based on Taylor series expansion is discussed in detail.The algorithm is suitable for data fusion of many different types of data,which makes up for the shortcomings of the classical geometric locating algorithm which can only be applied in several specific situations.In addition,the Kalman filter algorithm used in the target tracking is also discussed.Two feasible methods are proposed seperately for the locating and tracking of multi-coherent sources.For location of multi-targets,this paper proposes a location algorithm based on traversal search strategy,and proposes an improved method for the existence of false targets.After theoretical derivation and simulation verification,this method can effectively distinguish measurement data from different targets.Under the condition of given measurement error,the positioning error is close to the single target positioning error.For the problem of traking multi-targets,this paper combines the traversal search strategy of multi-target localization and the traditional JPDA algorithm.The simulation results show that the method can effectively perform multi-target tracking.Finally,the validity and feasibility of the multi-target location and tracking method proposed in this paper are verified by the processing of lake test data.
