Automobile exhaust emissions are one of the main sources of air pollution.The release of carbon dioxide and sulfides into the air will cause environmental pollution problems such as smog and acid rain.In recent years,we have increased the research and development of pure electric vehicles.Lithium battery packs are used to replace traditional gasoline,diesel and other fuels to solve the country's growing energy crisis and air pollution problems.In the research of pure electric vehicles battery pack,hundreds of single cells need to be connected.And it is easy to overcharge and undercharge during charging and discharging.So it is necessary to balance the energy of the lithium battery pack.Through monitoring the lithium battery pack's voltage,current and temperature,we can protect the battery of pure electric vehicles and extend their life.In this paper,we compare and analyze several common management methods of battery packs.We design an battery management system of lithium batteries based on passive equalization.The system can realize the monitoring and protection of the energy of the lithium battery pack.Because of its simple control,low cost and high safety,it can be widely popularized and applied in the market.The system uses LTC6803-2 as the lithium battery voltage monitoring management chip,which will release the excess energy through the peripheral hardware circuit.It can realize the automatic collection and equalization function of the lithium battery cell voltage,and realize the temperature monitoring.The system described in this paper uses the high-performance chip STM32F107VCT6 produced by STM Company as MCU chip,and the LTC6803-2 chip produced by Linear Technology as the monitoring chip of the lithium battery pack.Through the CAN communication and TCP/IP communication,the voltage,current,temperature and other information of the battery pack are transmitted to the upper monitor in real time,and the lower monitor is responsible for analyzing and processing the data,formulating the equalization control strategy.,and protectingthe lithium battery pack.Relying on the hardware circuit based on LTC6803-2 chip to collect related data,the lower monitor use C language to realize the related equalization control strategy.The upper monitor realizes the data display of the whole system,through the WinForm platform of Visual Studio 2010.The platform is simple in appearance and easy to operate.It can display the voltage,current and temperature of the system in real time,and can give warning for battery overcharge,undercharge and temperature abnormities.By using the lithium battery balance management system,the life of the pure electric vehicle battery pack can be greatly extended,and the safety of the battery pack can be ensured.
