Since the reform and opening up 40 years ago, with the development of infrastructure construction in China, the bridge industry has also been significantly improved.During these decades, the number and scale of Bridges in China have been growing day by day. However,it is the rapid construction and expansion that makes the bridge lack of character in terms of shape, and in terms of its aesthetic effect and social value. There is a prominent gap with many foreign countries in this field, especially in some small and medium-sized Bridges.Starting from the basic meaning of bridge design, this paper summarized and refined the point of view of many famous bridge engineers and artists all around the world, and extended bridge aesthetics to the field of art in combination with present era.On this basis, this paper starts with the coordination between the bridge structure and the environment and itself, and puts forward the principles and methods of strong operability for the selection of the bridge structure type and the design of each component based on the two aspects of environmental coordination and functional adaptability.Coordination is the key to the quality of a bridge. As we can see,all the most beautiful bridges in the world are coordinated with the environment around and themselves. But the coordination is the perceptual level concept, and the way to obtain it involves many disciplines. This paper innovatively combines the research results of bridge engineering and architecture to form the "skyline law".In terms of environmental coordination, this paper expounds the modeling and top shape characteristics of the four main types of bridge, including girder bridge, arch bridge,cable-stayed bridge and suspension bridge,as well as some typical environmental characteristics. This paper explains the adaptability of the main type of bridge under different environmental conditions with lots of examples. In addition, this paper draws lessons from the classic Bauhaus system in modern art design, combines the original intention of “form following function” with the design of bridge components, and finally makes use of the example. Finally, using the methods and guiding principles put forward in the previous chapters, this paper discusses the landscape and modeling effect of the Chuntan Yangtze River bridge in Chongqing, and concludes that the Chuntan Yangtze River Bridge performs better in coordination with the environment, but the proportion of the bridge tower is not coordinated and the decorative application is unreasonable,so it needs to be improved. In this paper, the Bauhaus thought system, starting from the aspects of environmental coordination and functionality, has carried out the scheme design and achieved better results for the proposed Chongqing Huang Jue ping Yangtze River bridge, thus further confirming the feasibility and practicability of the new method and guiding principle. In the past we advocated complex decorative sculpture, but now we pursue simple and concise lines.Though people's aesthetic are constantly changing, those excellent bridge masterpieces from ancient times to now are always the model of bridge coordination. So no matter where the aesthetic in the future will lead the bridge modeling to,coordination will always be the eternal theme.
