The cylinder enlarging technology of the reciprocating compressor is an important measure to increase the output by means of enlarging the diameter of the cylinder.It only needs to expand the cylinder diameter and replace several components such as cylinder liners and pistons,which costs little and takes less time.Thus,the cylinder enlarging technology is widely used in the petrochemical industry and has extremely high application value.In this paper,the research progress of cylinder enlarging at home and abroad is investigated and the existed compressor is redesigned according to the actual needs of the factory product.In order to ensure the efficient,stable and safe operation of the compressor,it needs to verify the thermal performance and structural strength.In this paper,first of all,the thermal performance calculation of the compressor is carried out to determine the main performance parameters after cylinder enlarging.The check calculation is able to ensure the accuracy of thermal performance calculation.Then,the dynamic performance for the piston and its rob is calculated in order to guarantee the stability of the compressor operation.Subsequently,components which are replaced after enlarging are designed and the existed components are checked to meet the operational demands.Finally,taking the cylinder sleeve as the analysis object,the stress-strain distribution,fatigue life,fatigue damage and modal characteristics are analyzed via the finite element simulation software according to the parameters and loads after enlarging.Furthermore,the service life and vibration characteristics of the cylinder sleeve are evaluated.The results show that it can meet the operational requirements for the Class-I cylinder sleeve after cylinder enlarging.The research work of the study means a lot for the theoretical value of compressor cylinder enlarging and provides the reference for the actual application of compressors.
