The Research On Visual Inspiration Sources Driven Automotive Modeling Design

The purpose of automobile modeling design is not only for a cool and goodlooking result,but also a thinking process that combines rationality and sensibility with consideration of various factors such as story background,design demand and design positioning.The author analyzes the submitted works of various domestic and foreign automobile modeling design competitions in recent years.It can be found that many students do not really grasp the true meaning of automobile modeling when designing and creating.In addition to student design,although domestic automobile enterprises have developed rapidly in recent years and released a large number of concept car designs,but the similarity is serious.The theory of visual inspiration sources helps the development of architecture,clothing and other fields.Because automobile modeling is similar with architecture and clothing design,so the introduction of visual inspiration Sources into automobile modeling design is a breakthrough direction to solve the above problems.Although some students will consciously choose some pictures as the design reference in the design process,some problems will occur in the actual operation,such as the selected pictures have nothing to do with the design concept,and the useful modeling information cannot be extracted from the pictures.This paper introduces the theory of visual inspiration sources,reorganizes the process framework of a utomobile modeling design,and takes visual inspiration source as the connection between design background and automobile modeling results.The visual inspiration sources drives the development of automobile modeling,and design process to help students understand the design process and promote the development of automobile modeling.This paper combines the theory of architecture,clothing and other related design fields.By means of multidisciplinary comprehensive research,this paper summarizes some important methods and theories after the introduction of the theory of visual inspiration sources into the process of automobile modeling design,and demonstrates the feasibility and importance of these methods through practical design cases.The author attempts to construct a design framework with design concept as the starting point,visual inspiration as the power,and final modeling as the result.The author summarizes the main process from concrete to abstract to concrete,and details the methods and evaluation system.Finally,the above content is verified through the practical design project of SAIC-GM Chevrolet brand.In the last practice chapter of this paper,each subsection corresponds to the previous process chapter,this will better assess the feasibility of the methodology and framework.
