| Oil filter is an important part of automobile engine lubrication system.Oil filter bracket is one of the basic parts of oil filter,which affects the effect of oil filter and oil pressure regulation.Oil filter bracket is usually produced by pressure die casting process.The traditional die casting process design is usually based on the experience of the staff,so it is necessary to constantly adjust the die casting mold,increase the product production cycle,reduce the efficiency of the die casting production,and the structural problems of the die casting mold can not be found in the early stage of the die casting mold design,nor can the defects position and content of the die castings be identified.It can not guarantee the quality of die castings.Through the casting simulation software ProCAST,the numerical simulation of the die casting process of the automobile oil filter bracket can predict the position and content of shrinkage cavity and air-entrapment defects in the die casting,then analyze the simulation results,and improve the optimized process plan,reducing defects in die casting production,thus greatly saving manpower,material and financial resources.Taking pouring temperature,preheating temperature of die,injection speed,length,width and thickness of inner gate as factors,and taking solidification time,filling time,air entrapment and shrinkage porosity as evaluation indexes,a six-factor and three-level orthogonal test table for automobile oil filter bracket was established.According to the data of orthogonal test table,the numerical simulation of die casting process was carried out by using ProCAST software.By comparing and analyzing the filling state,solidification state,gas wrapping state and shrinkage defects of metal liquid under different orthogonal tests,the optimum inner gate size and die casting process parameters of die casting of automobile oil filter bracket are determined as follows:the length of inner gate is 2.0 mm,the width is 37 mm,and the thickness is 2.5 mm;the pouring temperature is 650℃,The injection velocity is 1.4m/s and the preheating temperature of the die casting mold is 200 C.According to the simulation results,the die casting mold for the automobile oil filter bracket was designed,and the die casting test was carried out to observe the metallographic structure of the die casting.The results show that the volume of air entrapment and shrinkage of the microstructures are less,which verifies the rationality of the simulation and meets the actual production requirements. |
