Water resource shortage and other problems have become an important restricting factor for economic development and social progress,and also an important reason for the deterioration of the ecological and environmental system in the western region of China.To solve the water resource shortage problem,the water footprint can measure the human consumption and utilization of water resources and provide an effective method.Traditional water footprint measurement methods mainly focus on agricultural and animal husbandry products.In this paper,based on the hybrid model of life cycle assessment(H-LCA)listing analysis methods,refer to the ISO 14046 standard,in a typical arid area of Zhangye hotel service industry as an example,the study of the case of selected hotel target and determination of the scope,mainly in the process of selecting hotel operating 2013-2017 water listing data sorting and accounting,calculate the stages in the process of hotel service industry operating water footprint and water footprint,hotel each department services departments of indirect consumption ratio and the analysis of the total water footprint Zhangye hotel services.Finally,the water footprint evaluation index of five service hotels in Zhangye City is calculated through the water resource sustainable utilization evaluation index system,and the sustainable utilization strategy of water footprint is put forward.Quantification of water footprint in hotel service industry should be an important content in future water-saving city construction and virtual water strategy implementation in Zhangye.The research conclusions of this paper mainly include:(1)The quantitative proportion of water footprint of the hotel service industry in the preparatory stage is the largest,accounting for 60%of the whole life cycle;Second,the service phase accounts for 20%of the total lifecycle.The water footprint of the service and cleaning stages is mainly direct consumption,while the preparatory stage and equipment operation are mainly indirect consumption.(2)According to the total water footprint structure analysis of the five hotel service industries from 2013 to 2017,the total water footprint of the hotel service industry is5138974m~3,and the direct consumption is 3034464m~3,accounting for 59.05%of the total water footprint,and the indirect consumption is about 2104510 m~3,accounting for40.95%of the total water footprint.(3)By calculating the water footprint of each department of the five hotel service industry from 2013 to 2017,the seasonal change of the water footprint of the hotel service industry is obtained.The average monthly water footprint presents an inverted u-shaped curve.The peak of water footprint is mainly in July,August and September,which is basically consistent with the monthly change of passenger flow.The proportion of indirect water footprint consumed by each department of the hotel service industry is calculated,among which the agriculture,forestry,animal husbandry and fishery products and service departments are the largest indirect consumption,followed by the departments of metal mineral extraction and processing products and smelting and processing products and construction departments.(4)Through the analysis of survey data and water footprint calculation Zhangye hotel service industry spatial distribution of external water footprint,clear external water footprint from housekeeping service items,the direction of the consumables and food materials,consumables,housekeeping service items material mainly comes from outside the province's water footprint,food and beverage food material supplies mainly comes from the province's water footprint.(5)The water footprint of the hotel service industry increased year by year as the number of tourists received increased year by year.The average annual water footprint of the hotel service industry in Zhangye city.Based on this,the water footprint of the hotel service industry in Zhangye city reached 15.73million m~3 in 2017,accounting for about 10%of the total water footprint of Zhangye city.Therefore,strengthening water-saving in hotel service industry is also the key direction of water-saving in China's service sector.(6)Water footprint evaluation indexes of five service industries in Zhangye city are calculated according to the evaluation index system of sustainable utilization of water resources.According to the analysis of water footprint benefit index,the economic benefit value of water footprint of 5 hotels continued to increase from 2013to 2017,effectively improving the utilization rate of water resources.According to the analysis of water footprint structure index,the water resource self-sufficiency rate of five hotels continued to decline from 2013 to 2017,and the dependence of water resource import increased year by year.Excessive dependence on external water footprint is a potential threat to the industry or region.According to the analysis of water resource sustainability performance indicators,the water footprint of the five hotel service industries from 2013 to 2017 has a small change range,but is generally in an unsustainable state.
