As a coastal city,a large number of coastal saline soil is distributed in Weihai.With the economic development,the approval of the “Blue Economic Zone of Shandong Peninsula Development Plan” and the signing of the“China-South Korea Free Trade Agreement”,the scale of infrastructure construction in Weihai is also becoming larger.According to related statistics,the saline soil has a series of engineering performance,such as karst collapse deformation,salt expansion and corrosiveness,and the induced disease is threatening the safety and durability of the project,which will cause serious economic losses.Therefore,it is of significance to study the physical and mechanical properties of saline soil in Weihai from the perspective of the distribution of saline soil in Weihai,the strategic layout of the country,the engineering disease of saline soil and economic development.At present,studies conducted on saline soil in Weihai area are relatively rare.In this paper,the silinity,compaction characteristics,permeability,consolidation characteristics and shear strength of saline soil in Weihai area were studied experimentally,and the range of relevant parameters of the studied saline soil were obtained.The main work and research results of this paper are as follows:(1)The in situ investigation of saline soil in Weihai area were conducted,and a series of laboratory tests on basic properties of soil samples were carryied out.The composition of soil particles,total salt content and soluble salt composition in the researched regions were obtained,based on which the soils were classified and named.(2)According to the results of compaction tests and permeability tests,the value range of optimal water content,maximum dry density and permeability coefficient of saline soil in Weihai area were given.(3)The MCU automatic consolidation instrument was used to perform the consolidation test of saline soil in Weihai area.The optimal water content was chosen as the control factor,and compression curves of the soil samples in the study area were obtained.The range of compression coefficient and compression modulus of the samples under the pressure from 0 kPa to 400 kPa were measured.The compressibility of the saline soils in Weihai area were classified by the corresponding compression coefficients at a consolidation pressure of 100 kPa and 200 kPa.(4)The unconsolidated and undrained triaxial tests were carried out using the standard dynamic triaxial test system of ELDyn to study the shear strength of saline soils in Weihai area.At a confining pressure of 50 kPa,100 kPa,and 150 kPa,the stress-strain curves and ranges of shear strength index(cohesion,internal friction angle)of the saline soil samples in Weihai area were obtained.
