As the main load-bearing component of the loader,the drive axle housing is one of the highest failure rate of components in the loader’s system.Drive axle housing remanufacturing as an important part of the loader’s system remanufacturing,at first we should recycle the scrap axle housing and after nondestructive testing then make them to simple classification.How to determine whether the recovered axle housing has sufficient residual life is the core of the manufacturing quality control system of axle housing remanufacturing,it is also the primary problem should be solved in the process of the drive axle housing remanufacturing.This thesis selected a certain type of drive axle housing of LG loader as the research object,then completed the entire process that from geometric modeling to finite element analyzing and evaluating the residual life of driving axle housing by the combination use of three-dimensional modeling software UG and finite element analyzing software ANSYS.First of all,geometric model was established by using the UG according to the structure characteristics of the axle housing,after importing the geometric model into ANSYS,through selecting unit type,defining material property,meshing as well as inflicting load then built the element model of the axle housing.Secondly,analyzed the structural strength of the axle housing on the simulation test bench,to examine the strength and stiffness of the axle housing.Next,the finite element static analysis of the axle housing was carried on under the maximum dynamic load condition,the maximum traction condition and the maximum braking condition,achieved the cloud pictures of equivalent stress distribution and deformation under the three typical working conditions.Then analyzed the modal vibration mode and obtained the dynamic characteristics of the axle housing through the modal calculation.On the basis of the finite element static analysis,find out the specific position of the maximum equivalent stress of axle housing and embedded crack defects,then established the finite element model of recovered axle housing which contains crack defects,analyzed the influence of crack defects to the stress distribution of recovered axle housing.Finally evaluated the residual life based on the finite element model of the recovered axle recycling which contains crack defects,studied the influence of different crack defects to the residual life of the recovered axle housing and explored to a simple method which can determine whether the recovered axle housing has enough residual life in the remanufacturing process.The analysis result showed that it can provide a detection gist for judging whether the recovered axle housing has enough residual life on the basis of the width and depth of crack,and put forward a new idea to solve the problem about residual life that encountered in the process of drive axle housing remanufacturing.
